The purpose for the second meeting is to gather information needed to develop an estate analysis. Specifically, your objective here is to complete the Estate Planning Data Taker (Form 2491) as fully as possible. This form is designed for use in gathering and recording complete information about the prospective client's income, assets, liabilities, family and business situations, financial objectives and estate distribution wishes.

Depending on the prospect's situation and preparation for this meeting, approximately one to two hours may be required to gather the information needed to analyze the prospect's estate. If the prospective client has current insurance policies, trusts and wills, you may find it more time-wise to take these with you after the meeting, and fully complete these sections of the Data Taker later. If you do this, be certain to give the prospect a receipt for the documents/policies.
