Try this to get the most benefit from this Case Study:
- As you read the case, make notes about planning ideas or additional information you'd like to have about the case or the people in it. It is recommended that you complete a paper copy of the Estate Planning Data Taker (Form 2491) as you progress through this exercise. Doing so will assist you in completing the final Action Assignment.
- Analyze the needs, wants, concerns, and objectives of the estate owners.
- Design suitable planning suggestions and specific product recommendations using the Case Analysis & Solutions form, which follows the Case Study.
- Identify other issues that these estate owners might want to address in the future.
- Conduct a what-if exercise in which you change the situation in ways that suggest different solutions than the ones you originally developed.
