Advertising — Advertising in local periodicals and in trade or professional publications may generate some activity, but their main purpose is to raise your profile with local businessowners and professionals.

Try this — To get more bang for your advertising bucks, try coordinating the subjects and timing of your print advertising and direct mail letters, so that prospects who receive your letters will also see your ad in the paper the same week. And, if you're conducting seminars, coordinate all three prospecting activities!

To learn more about how to advertise in the business and professional market in your area, ask your General Agent/Trainer about Ohio National's Co-Op Advertising Program, and be sure to check out the numerous sample ads available from Corporate Communications.

Public relations activity — Media releases announcing new designations, awards, seminars completed, and other news are all useful in separating you from the competition in the eyes of your prospects and clients. So are letters to the editor or (better yet) articles written by you in financial newsletters, business sections of local newspapers, magazines and other publications that are read regularly by members of the business and professional communities.
