Market Planning Idea
Use E-Cards, But Not Always
E-mail can also be used to send greetings, called e-cards. We don't suggest always using e-cards instead of regular greeting cards by mail; you should use both.
Gauge what kind of feedback you get from clients and use the more popular methods more often. In some cases, the responses will be indicative of the effort you put into designing the e-card, as well as choosing the most appropriate and thoughtful greeting card.
E-cards can be used for many different occasions, where appropriate. Obviously, sending one as a sympathy gesture would be inappropriate. They can be sent as simple HTML cards, or as Flash cards with animation. The Web sites www.freedomarketing.ca and www.hallmark.com both have several generic templates that are available to send to clients for free. The Web Profiler Web site (www.freedomarketing.ca) has a service where they will send cards to multiple addresses and track the activity of the card for a fee. They will also customize cards for an additional charge.
Typically, sending e-cards is much less expensive, and a nice change from mailing greeting cards. But, remember to use both types!
