Response: "Usually, personal disability income is used for personal and family needs without much left over. Business overhead covers your business expenses, and the premiums are fully tax-deductible. Doesn't it make sense to let Uncle Sam help keep your business open if you're disabled?"
Objection: "We could easily shut down for a short while."
Response: "A serious illness or sickness could last for months. Could you be out of business that long? When was the last time you even took a long vacation?
"Even if you shut down for just a few weeks, you could lose clients/customers and never get them back."
Objection: "We could liquidate business and personal assets to keep the business open if we had to."
Response: "A forced sale is like putting your assets out in a garage sale. You'd get just a fraction of what they're worth, and may end up dismantling your business or destroying your personal savings. There's a reasonable way to avoid having to lose everything you've worked so hard for — why not use it?"
Objection: "We're already paying too much in insurance premiums now!"
Response: "Sure, I can understand that. But if you were disabled you'd have the same expenses to pay, but with less income to do it with."
