    Trigger questions

    Personal life insurance:

"Have you made arrangements for your income to outlive you?"

"Would you want to be sure that your children will be able to complete their college educations, and that your other financial goals will be met, regardless of what happens to you?"

    Personal disability income insurance:

"How does your group disability plan work?" (Wait for the response, then say...) "Could you live on the income from your group disability plan? Would you be interested in supplementing those benefits?"

"If you had a choice, which would you insure? The goose? Or the golden egg?"

"Are you more interested in pre-retirement or post-retirement income protection?"

"You insure your vehicles, your building, your equipment. But, do you insure your most valuable asset — your ability to earn an income?"

"Would losing $4,000 a month in earnings hurt you? Of course it would. Would losing $70 a month hurt you? Of course not — you wouldn't even miss it. So, wouldn't you rather spend the $70 with me, if it means protecting the buying power of your $4,000 monthly income?"
