These "conversational" telephone approaches can be used as follow-ups to letters or with cold contacts.

Telephone follow-up call

"Hello, is this Prospect? This is Sales Associate with Ohio National Financial Services here in Town. Do you have a moment to speak on the phone?

"I sent you a letter and brochure a few days ago describing Subject. Do you recall receiving them?"

(If not, briefly explain the subject. Discuss the brochure, or mention any third-party influence you may have, and then ask for a scheduled meeting.)

"I'm calling to introduce myself and to see if you're as interested in this concept as other successful businessowners/practitioners in the area have been. It won't take more than 15 or 20 minutes. I'll be available Monday morning at 10:00 or Thursday morning at 10:00 and again at 4:15.

"Is there any reason why we can't get together? Which time would be better for you?"
