Selling Investments

Before selling an investment product to either an existing client or a prospect, suitability must be established, as discussed earlier in this section. To reiterate, the recommendation of a security must take into account the suitability of that security as an investment for the client or prospect. Suitability of an investment for your client or prospect depends on many factors, including previous investment experience, education, income level, net worth, investment objective, age and attitude toward risk.
