FINRA Series 7

The FINRA Series 7, General Securities Registered Representative Examination, is also administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and is more comprehensive than the Series 6 exam. It has two sections, each with 125 multiple choice questions on subjects such as equity securities, debt securities, options, investment companies, trading markets and regulations.

Registered Representatives who want the flexibility to offer a full range of products need the Series 7 because passing the Series 7 examination qualifies Registered Representatives as General Securities Representatives with the necessary qualifications to solicit, purchase and/or sell all securities products, except for commodities and futures.
